A recently obtained access-to-information request reveals that the average wait time for a lottery license in Newfoundland and Labrador was 7.02 days from March 19, 2025, to September 22, 2025. In comparison, the average wait from May 22, 2024, to September 11, 2024, was 11.05 days.

From January 1, 2024, to April 8, 2024, it was 21.53 days.

From March 19 to September 11, 1,204 applications were received, 970 licenses were issued, 1044 applications were closed (86.7%), and 160 were outstanding (13.3%). 

The service time from the date the application was received to the date the license was issued was 14 days or less for 830 applicants or 85.57 percent, between 15 and 30 days for 96 applicants or 9.90 percent, between 31 and 60 days for 33 applicants or 3.40%, between 61 and 90 days for seven applicants or 0.72 percent, between 91 and 110 days for two applicants or 0.21 percent and more than 111 days for two applicants or 0.21 percent.
