A recently obtained access-to-information request reveals that the average wait time for a lottery license in Newfoundland and Labrador was 11.05 days from May 22, 2024, to September 11, 2024. In comparison, the average wait time from January 1, 2024, to April 8, 2024, was 21.53 days.

From May 22 to September 11, 617 applications were received, 460 issued, 521 closed, and 96 outstanding.

The service time from the date the application was received to the date the license was issued was 14 days or less for 345 applications or 75 percent, between 15 and 30 days for 93 applications or 20.22 percent, between 31 and 60 days for 19 applications or 4.13 percent, between 61 and 90 days for 2 applications or 0.43 percent, between 91 and 110 days for 1 application or 0.22 percent and no applications took more than 111 days.
