
An obtained access-to-information request reveals that the NL Consumer and Financial Services Division received 2,877 applications for lottery licenses from January 1, 2023, to December 21, 2023. During that time, 595 applications have been otherwise closed. 2,130 licenses were issued.
As of December 21, 2023, 152 applications were outstanding.
The service time from the date the application was received to the date the license was issued was 14 days or less for 51.46% of applications, between 15 and 30 days for 27%, between 31 and 60 days for 19.11%, between 61 and 90 days for 1.64%, between 91 and 110 days for 0.42%, and 111 days or more for 0.38%. The average was 18.86 days.
The wait time of the 152 outstanding applications from the date the applications were received to December 21, 2023, was 14 days or less for 38.82% of applications, between 15 and 30 days for 30.26%, between 31 and 60 days for 13.16%, between 61 and 90 days for 7.89%, between 91 and 100 days for 3.95%, and 111 days or more for 5.92%.
