A recently obtained access-to-information request from the Department of Health and Community Services reveals the number of Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Nurse Practitioners new hires and vacancies from April 1, 2023, to June 2024. There were 839 RNs, LPNs, and NPs recruited from April 1, 2023, to June 2024.

From April 1, 2023, to March 31, 2024, 152 LPNs were hired, 14 NPs, and 370 RNs, with a total of 536.

From April to June 2024, 138 LPNs were hired, 4 NPs, and 161 RNs, with a total of 303.

As of April 2024, there was a total of 695 Registered Nurse vacancies (including Nurse Practitioners) and 360 Licensed Practical Nurse vacancies.
