A recently obtained access-to-information request reveals that Memorial University provides $38,926 in services to its separately incorporated entity, the Canadian Centre for Fisheries Innovation (CCFI). The first three services are redacted, but the last three include $2,367 for cleaning and maintenance, $1,986 for heat and light, and $34,573 for office space.

Cleaning and maintenance costs $2.36 per square foot for CCFI’s 1,003-square-foot office space, heat and light costs $1.98 per square foot, and the office space market equivalent is $34.47 per square foot annually. Under notes, it states that Human Resources (HR) costs have increased due to salary increases during the year, but the costs of HR are not provided.

In another ATIPP request, it was revealed that Memorial also provides payroll service, leave management recording, RSP withdrawals, purchasing, accounts payable, travel processing, cash deposit of cheques, etc.
