A recently obtained access-to-information request reveals that Memorial University spent $64,627.46 on its search for a new Vice-President (Grenfell Campus).

Most was spent on “professional fees” for a headhunting firm at $37,274.95, with the rest on travel and hosting.

$5982.01 was spent on travel for the president to Corner Brook, once for Vianne Timmons and three times for Neil Bose. $7,686.67 was spent on travel for the president’s Executive Director, Margot Brown, to Corner Brook.

$10,246.58 was spent on travel for the candidates to Grenfell/St. John’s.

$1,961.52 was spent on hosting a luncheon with the “Leadership group,” and $1,475.73 was spent on hosting at Glynmil Inn.

The Vice-President (Grenfell Campus) pro tempore, Ian Sutherland, was the successful candidate.
