A recently obtained access-to-information request reveals that Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services spent $7,762,720 on staffing agency nurses in February 2026.
Of the total, $852,815 was spent in the Eastern Zone, $3,911,142 in the Central Zone, $2,445,154 in the Western Zone, and $553,609 in the Labrador-Grenfell Zone.
The total amount spent on agency nurses through the end of January 2026 was $365,641,554, so the total is now $373,404,274.
