A recently obtained access-to-information request reveals the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador’s Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation (TCAR) spent $200,000 on the 2025 Canada Games between March 19, 2025, and June 19, 2025. It went to the St. John’s Tennis Association (SJTA).
As previously reported, the Department of Tourism has spent $10,186,000 as of March 18, 2025.
To date, the Department of Tourism has spent $10,386,000, Memorial University has spent $20,148,337.68, the Department of Education has spent $19,039,400, the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure has spent $15,443,622.79, and the City of St. John’s has spent $15,805,983. The total spent by all five bodies is $80,497,165.23.
