A recently obtained access-to-information request from the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador’s Department of Health and Community Services reveals that the recruitment trip to India resulted in 379 offers of employment and 341 offers accepted, and the Dubai trip resulted in 68 offers made with 64 accepted.
The Department noted that the offers are conditional, and the health care professionals targeted as a result of the recruitment trips are required to obtain licensure in Newfoundland and Labrador and a work permit before commencing employment.
