A recently obtained access-to-information request reveals that Memorial University spent $8,464,862.76 on the 2025 Canada Games as of April 15, 2024.

The Office of the Vice-President (Administration, Finance and Advancement) spent $897.23, the Canada Games Project Office spent $225,195.00, Facilities Management spent $8,230,926.75, Student Residences and Ancillary Operations spent $2,755.12, the Office of the Provost and Vice-President (Academic) spent $2,588.66, and the School of Human Kinetics and Recreation / Varsity Athletics spent $2,500.00.

Memorial stated that external funding will be provided for $8,167,389.56 of the costs summarized but did not state the sources.

The costs to be incurred by Memorial is $297,473.2.
