A recently obtained access-to-information request reveals that the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador’s Department of Transportation and Infrastructure spent $15,443,622.79 on the 2025 Canada Games as of March 18, 2025. 

The project was titled “Track and Field Facility,” and $7,720,653.18 was from the provincial government and $7,722,969.61 from the federal government.

To date, Memorial University has spent $18,071,133, the Department of Tourism has spent $10,186,000, The Department of Education has spent $19,039,400, The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure has spent $15,443,622.79, and the City of St. John’s has spent $14,917,587. The total spent by all five bodies is $77,331,564.55.
