An obtained access-to-information request reveals that the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador collected $19,128,192.98 in vapour products tax revenue since it was implemented on January 1, 2021.

$501,844.48 was collected fiscal year ending 3/31/2021, $4,668,955.28 at fiscal year ending 3/31/2022, $6,260,146.79 at fiscal year ending 3/31/2023, and $7,697,246.43 fiscal year ending 3/31/2024.

The tobacco tax revenue has decreased each year since the vapour tax was implemented. $110,773,318.16 was collected in fiscal year ending 3/31/2022, which was a $28,225,791.64 decrease from $138,999,109.80 collected in fiscal year ending 3/31/2021. $86,570,533.22 was collected in fiscal year ending 3/31/2023, which was a $24,202,784.94 decrease from the previous year. $70,209,219.84 was collected in fiscal year 3/31/2024, which was a $16,361,313.38 decrease from the previous year.
