On July 18, 2024, the MUN Students for Palestine group posted a video to social media of a Campus Enforcement and Patrol Officer stating they’d been instructed to remove posters that the group put up.

The group stated, “Despite the university’s insistence (to media) that students are welcome to protest ‘all day every day,’ CEP have been instructed specifically to immediately remove any posters related to the protest.”

Furthermore, the group stated, “Chanting is deemed a safety hazard, photos laid on the floor-a slip hazard, chalk-somehow a hazard. Emails are intrusive. There is simply no right way to protest the genocide Memorial University is committed to remaining complicit in.”
