
A recently obtained access-to-information request reveals that the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador’s Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation (TCAR) spent $9,961,000 on the 2025 Canada Games as of April 15, 2024.
$8,561,000 went to the Canada Games Host Society and $1,400,000 to the Riverdale and Green Belt Tennis Club.
Memorial University has spent $8,464,862.76, and the City of St. John’s has spent $7,443,066. The total spent by all three bodies is $25,863,928.76.
