
A recently obtained access-to-information request reveals that the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador’s Department of Finance officials have attended 231 trips outside the province and country since the Liberals took government in 2015.
The cities include Whitehorse, Ottawa, Vancouver, Montreal, New York, Toronto, Victoria, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Charlottetown, Halifax, Fredericton, Moncton, Rouyn, and Quebec City.
Some of the events attended include the 61st Session United Nations, Status of Women, FPT Finance ministers meeting, Provincial Borrower’s Conference, Investor Relations Meetings, RIMS Canada Conference, Tobacco Steering Committee Meetings, IIC conference, RASC meetings, MAMRAM Conference, Federal Budget Lockup, BMO conference, PIAC Conference, and Interprovincial Tax Conference.
