A recently obtained access-to-information request reveals that the Minister, Deputy Minister, and Assistant Deputy Ministers in the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador’s Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture went on 175 trips outside the province and country since the Liberals took government in 2015.
The cities in Canada where they attended events are Ottawa, Whitehorse, Halifax, Quebec City, Charlottetown, Guelph, Saskatoon, Moncton, Toronto, and Winnipeg.
Outside the country, they went to Boston, Brussels, Trondheim, Norway, Iceland, and Tallinn.
Some of the events attended include Seafood Expo North America, FPT Ministers of Agriculture Meeting, Seal Day on the Hill, AquaNor, Expo Global, World Seafood Congress, Canadian Council of Forest Ministers’ Meetings, Seal Summit Express, Food for Health Policy Workshop, FFAW Industrial Council Meetings, NAFO meetings, North Atlantic Fisheries Organization, Forestry Sector Summit, and World Dairy Summit.
