Audited financial statements on the Memorial University of Newfoundland Students’ Union website from 2018 through 2024 show that its copy centre and convenience store, The Attic, accumulated $554,431 in operating losses over the past seven years.
The deficit was $54,564 in 2018, $63,032 in 2019, $73,491 in 2020, $86,241 in 2021, $84,995 in 2022, $99,997 in 2023, and $92,111 in 2024.
The figures are from Schedule 3 of each audit, which details The Attic’s revenues and expenditures. In one case, an earlier year was restated in a subsequent audit, meaning the total reflects the most recent audited figures available.
