Audited financial statements on the Memorial University of Newfoundland Students’ Union website from 2018 through 2024 show that its radio station, CHMR, accumulated $1,091,239 in operating losses over the past seven years.

The deficit was $143,445 in 2018, $150,283 in 2019, $141,922 in 2020, $134,045 in 2021, $155,047 in 2022, $171,865 in 2023, and $194,632 in 2024.

The figures are from Schedule 4 of each audit, which details CHMR’s revenues and expenditures. In several cases, earlier years were restated in subsequent audits, meaning the totals reflect the most recent audited figures available.
