At its Board of Directors meeting on April 1, 2026, the Memorial University of Newfoundland Students’ Union (MUNSU) voted to end funding for its campus radio station, CHMR.
The CHMR-FM News Department announced on social media that it will go off the air on June 1, 2026, or earlier, and thanked everyone for their support.
During the meeting, the MUNSU executive noted that CHMR raised just $335 during its fundraising effort in December 2025.
