A recently obtained access-to-information request reveals that Memorial University spent $179,093.57 on its 2024/25 presidential search, which resulted in Janet Morrison being selected as the successful candidate. 

$3,867.92 was spent on public consultations, $36,880.35 on software, $5,366.87 on personnel position (advertising), $4,413.00 on conference facility rental, $6,695.25 on legal fees, $10,576.21 on candidate travel, $5,537.00 on Canadian Equality Consulting, $98,598.31 on consultant fees, and $7,158.66 on catering.

Memorial spent $32,819.88 more than when Vianne Timmons was selected as the successful candidate in the 2019 presidential search, which cost $146,273.69.
