Upon inquiry from Mattbarter.ca, Memorial University of Newfoundland Students’ Union Executive Director of External Affairs Taqi Yeasir stated that the Union has budgeted $20,000 for Higher Talent consulting services.

Yeasir said the decision to retain an external consultant reflects the organization’s operational needs due to the “high turnover of the elected executive members and limited management experience that naturally comes with annually changing student leadership.”

“An ongoing professional consultant will provide operational continuity, institutional knowledge, and management expertise that supports the organization throughout the year,” said Yeasir.

Yeasir said the investment is intended to “strengthen organizational stability and ensure consistent support for MUNSU’s operations while elected student leaders continue to represent and serve the student body.”
