A recently obtained access-to-information request reveals that the Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services spent $4,661,413.80 on accommodation and travel expenses for staffing agency nurses from April 2020 to March 2025.
The Central Zone started to break out the accommodations and travel expenses on the nursing agency invoices in fiscal year April 2020 – March 2021, the Eastern Zone and Western Zone started in fiscal year April 2023 – March 2024, and the Labrador-Grenfell Zone in fiscal year April 2024 – March 2025.
