A recent access-to-information request obtained from NL Health Services reveals that 4,504 patients were still waiting for an MRI scan during 2023/24 Quarter 4 (January 1 to March 31, 2024).

In the Central Zone, 221 patients were waiting for a non-urgent MRI scan, and in the Eastern Zone, 3045 patients were waiting.

In the Central Zone, 114 patients were waiting for an urgent MRI scan and in the Eastern Zone, 4169 patients were waiting.

Those still waiting include patients who are already booked with an assigned appointment and those waiting to be booked.

The Eastern Zone data provided excludes Pediatric (JCH) and Janeway.

Data for the Western Zone was not provided because it was not yet available.
