According to Memorial University’s Strategic Procurement website, the university awarded the executive search firm KBRS contracts worth at least $239,000 in 2026.

Under “Awarded: Open Calls 2026,” the university awarded KBRS 2022 Limited a contract for Executive Search Consulting Services at a cost of $200,000 for all searches as a bundle, or $220,900 in total if awarded individually.

Under “Limited Calls for Bids,” the university awarded KBRS a $39,000 contract to conduct a search for the Associate Vice-President (People and Culture).

KBRS currently has recruitment advertisements on its website for three positions at Memorial: Dean of Libraries (University Librarian); Director, School of Social Work; and Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science.

It also recently advertised the position of Deputy Provost (Marine Institute) & Executive Director (Professional and Continuing Education). The position is currently listed under active searches on Memorial’s Academic Recruitment webpage.

In 2025, Memorial hired KBRS to search for a Vice-President (Finance and Administration). However, in a Gazette article published on January 7, 2026, President Janet Morrison said the search was unsuccessful and that the search process was paused for 12 months, with an interim Vice-President appointed.

In previous years, Memorial hired KBRS to conduct searches for the following positions: Associate Vice-President, Research and Strategic Partnerships of the Fisheries and Marine Institute; Associate Vice-President (Finance) and Chief Financial Officer; and Vice-President (Advancement and External Relations).
