On July 1, 2025, retired Memorial University engineering professor Mike Hinchey nominated me for The Centennial 100, a list recognizing 100 individuals who have made significant contributions to Memorial.
Below is the nomination statement written by Professor Hinchey:
“By exposing bloat and corruption at MUN, Matt Barter has done more for MUN and Newfoundland than anyone in decades. He was attacked by MUN for doing this. He had to take MUN to court to get justice. He took great personal risk doing this. The young men from Newfoundland who fought and died in the great wars and for whom MUN is dedicated would be proud of him and his fighting spirit.”
