On June 4, 2025, Memorial University’s Privacy Officer, Maggie Noseworthy, sent correspondence stating that the University had decided to deny access to the protected disclosure investigation report into former President Neil Bose and his hiring of a personal friend and co-author to the Associate Vice-President Harlow Campus and Global Partnerships position without any competition.

Noseworthy stated that disclosure would be harmful to personal privacy and that “Memorial’s Protected Disclosure policy is a highly confidential policy that provides a disclosure mechanism for members of the University to anonymously report incidents of wrongdoing. The nature and intent of the policy is to protect the identity of individuals who report such wrongdoing. Substantiated claims are confidentially investigated and reported on.”

However, in this particular case, I am the member of the University who reported an incident of wrongdoing and published that I had filed the complaint.

A complaint has been filed with the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner.
