
A recently obtained access-to-information request from Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services reveals that registered nurses had 613,578 hours of paid and unpaid sick leave in 2023.
4508 nurses used at least one hour of paid or unpaid sick leave during the last year, and 217 nurses who had previously retired worked as casual call-back nurses during the last year.
