On August 26, 2024, I filed an access-to-information request with Memorial University for the letter of reprimand the Board of Regents issued to former Chair Glenn Barnes for violating the privacy of a third party. Memorial responded on September 24, 2024, stating that the letter issued to the former chair “reflects the employment and personal information of Mr. Barnes. Accordingly, as this record includes the personal information of Mr. Barnes, disclosure would be an unreasonable invasion of their personal privacy.”
A complaint has been filed with the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner.
