A recently obtained access-to-information request reveals a list of all occurrences from December 2023 to July 2024 of vessels servicing the Bell Island to Portugal Cove route being unavailable for service, including the MV Legionnaire, MV Beaumont Hamel, or MV Flanders.
The reasons for the service disruption included high winds, sea conditions, docking conditions, forecasted weather, gale warnings, storm warnings, and mechanical issues.
