Memorial University students have been targeted by a phishing scam from the address itservices@lifewealth-au.com. The email sent to students says their email password login session is expiring soon. It asks them to re-authenticate to avoid being locked out of their email account and provides a hyperlink to click on. It then says, “Action is required immediately to avoid service interruption.” The email signs off with “Thank you, The Webmail Team.”
Memorial’s Office of the Chief Information Officer IT Security Administrator Tim Collins stated that they investigated and “determined the email is a phishing attempt aimed at obtaining Memorial credentials. We have blocked the sender from sending further emails.”
