
A recently obtained access-to-information request reveals the number of student code of conduct complaints lodged at Memorial University from May 27, 2022, to December 31, 2023. 54 students were accused of violating the code, 18 were found guilty, and none were suspended or expelled.
For the students found guilty of code violations, disciplinary action included restricted access from campus, coaching conversation, education sessions, apology letter, behavioural agreement, letter of reprimand, no contact agreement, verbal warning, and non-academic probation.
The cases from January 1, 2024, to February 16 are still pending, and the outcomes have not yet been decided.
