Memorial University stated that Jennifer Browne was the decision-maker in my case under the Student Code of Conduct, but an access-to-information request suggests otherwise.
In an email between General Counsel Scott Worsfold and their external lawyer, Ruth Trask, regarding the modified ban letter, Worsfold stated, “They added the library and student centre to where he could go (once campus opened because in mid-January it was all closed down still.) They also took away the requirement to report to CEP when on campus.”
Worsfold’s statement implies that the decision-making process involved several individuals, casting doubt on the university’s earlier assertion that Jennifer Browne was the sole decision-maker in the case.
