After my article thanking supporters, St. John’s lawyer, Bob Buckingham, made the following statement:
“Matt, your challenge to the authoritarian actions of the university administration is to be commended. Your call for the resignations of Jennifer Browne and Gregory McDougall is justified. Had the B&G team been as equally diligent to the real harms being done to Memorial’s reputation by Timmons instead of compounding our national embarrassment through their unjustified attack on you and the issues you stood for, maybe they could withstand criticism. But alas, such is not the case. Hold your head high, Matt. You are a true stalwart of what the principles Memorial University is supposed to stand for, uphold and protect. I say Matt Barter for an Honorary Degree of Laws.”
