Memorial University Provost and Vice-President (Academic) Jennifer Lokash recently stated to The Muse that changes have been made to the Faculty of Engineering’s Co-op program. The stipendiary work-term amount paid to students increased from $2500 to $3500. The stipend increased from $1500 to $1750 for research work terms.
Lokash stated that in the last five semesters of offering work terms, there have been close to 1700 work-term placements, with only 4 of those research stipends. Lokash said that most work-terms pay in the range of $5,000.
