A recently obtained access-to-information request from Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services reveals wait-time data for paramedics off-loading patients at emergency rooms in St. John’s from October 2018 to November 2025, totalling 84,246.2 hours.

There were 310.4 hours in 2018, 3,233.5 hours in 2019, 3,638.6 hours in 2020, 6,951.3 hours in 2021, 11,665.6 hours in 2022, 15,784.3 hours in 2023, 22,334.4 hours in 2024, and 20,328.1 hours in 2025.

Up until June 2023, NLHS only collected data on Metro ambulances that were in off-load delay and not ambulances that originated from locations outside the city.
