
A recently obtained access-to-information request reveals Memorial University President Neil Bose’s conflict of interest disclosure form dated November 21, 2024, regarding the Provost search committee.
Under the section titled “Indicate the real, perceived or potential conflict of interest situation(s) you wish to disclose,” Bose checked “Involvement in Personnel Decisions.”
Under the section that asks for a description of the relationship, Bose wrote: “1. Current supervisor of shortlisted candidate for position of Provost. 2. Co-supervisor of PhD work of other short listed candidate – PhD completion in 2001 and – co-author of academic publications in years up to 2004.”
Under the section that asks for a description of the conflict, Bose included an email trail with Board of Regents Chair Justin Ladha as an attachment.
