A recently obtained access-to-information request reveals that the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador’s Intergovernmental Affairs Secretariat officials have attended 177 trips outside the province and country since the Liberals took government in 2015.

The cities include Fredericton, Ottawa, Vancouver, Toronto, Saint Pierre, St. Peter’s Bay, Whitehorse, Boston, Halifax, Saint John, Edmonton, Washington, Mexico City, Moncton, Regina, Montreal, Quebec City, Summerside, Vermont, Saskatoon, Glasgow, Victoria, Savanah, Pictou, London, Winnipeg, Rotterdam, and Calgary.

Some of the events attended include Federal/Provincial/Territorial Deputy Ministers Meeting, First Ministers’ Meeting, Council of Atlantic Premiers Meeting, Conference of New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers, NAFTA Negotiations, Atlantic Growth Strategy Meeting, Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) Hearing, United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26), and Fraser Institute Atlantic Dinner Event.
