A recently obtained access-to-information request reveals that the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador’s Department of Municipal and Provincial Affairs officials have attended 169 trips outside the province and country since the Liberals took government in 2015.

The list provided includes when the trips occurred, where, who went, and the general purpose.

Some of the cities in Canada include PEI, Ottawa, Edmonton, Toronto, Quebec City, Montreal, Halifax, Fredericton, Vancouver, Victoria, Regina, and Calgary.

Some of the events attended include API conference, INFC Gas Tax Workshop, FPT meetings, Canadian Council of Minister of Environment Conference, Federal Infrastructure Program Workshop, Carbon pricing meetings, Climate Change Summit, Satellite Telemetry Interagency Working Group, Northeastern North America Policy Submit, and Federation of Canadian Municipalities Asset Management Conference. Other events are just listed as “government business.”
