Memorial University graduate Student Sara Langer has reached out to mattbarter.ca to inform that a report has been filed with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary. She stated, “Students want to know where our money went, and as we dig deeper, we are seeing more concerning things that point to financial impropriety that we have reported to the RNC.”
Langer points to CFS-NL and GSU executive media statements that previous executives used GreenShield and CFS union fees elsewhere, from at least 2021. She said they have found that funding specifically for the Aldrich Conference this academic year was not used for its purpose.
She said there is also a PayPal account used for rent of the Field Hall and Bitters payments, with the amount unknown, though they suspect it is a significant amount.
