A recently obtained access-to-information request reveals meetings between the Premier and Memorial University officials from January 1, 2023, to July 31, 2023.
The request asked for all information regarding the meetings, including a list of meeting dates, briefing notes, agendas, documents, and correspondence.
A decision was made by the Chief of Staff of the Premier’s Office to provide access to some of the information – 6 pages of email correspondence.
Access to the remaining information was withheld due to it revealing the arrangements for security and disclosing information considered an unreasonable invasion of a third party’s personal privacy.
When asked why a list of meeting dates was not included, the Operations and ATIPP Coordinator Eilanda Whelan responded that a list of meetings does not exist but advised that the Premier met with Memorial University officials on March 15, April 3, April 20, April 25, June 2, and June 8, 2023.
